Hi, I'm Angelina Mele, the person behind AngiePicks. I live in Pembroke Pines, Florida, and I built this site for one reason: I was tired of buying things that looked perfect online and disappointed me at home.

Where the Name Comes From

Angie is what everyone calls me. Picks are the choices — the short list left after everything mediocre has been thrown out. AngiePicks is literally that: Angie's picks. Not a catalog of everything available, but the handful of things that earned a permanent place in my own house.

How This Started

I kept getting the same message from friends and family: where did you get that, does it actually work, would you buy it again. I was already answering those questions one by one, so I decided to answer them once, in public, and keep the answers honest.

That is the whole idea. Not chasing whatever is trending, not listing the cheapest thing I can find. Choosing carefully, then telling you what happened after I used it.

Tried, Not Just Selected

The strongest thing I can offer is not a review score — it's my own record with a product. Some of these I have used for years. The Avalon Organics vitamin C moisturizer has been in my bathroom for more than eight years, and I still buy it. That is not a first impression, that is a decision I have repeated dozens of times.

So every pick on this site carries a clear label. If I own it and use it, it says so, and I tell you how long and what it actually did for me. If I selected it by research but have not used it myself, it says that too, plainly. You should always know which one you are reading.

You will not find copied Amazon reviews here, or star ratings borrowed from somewhere else, or made-up quotes from customers who do not exist. What you get is my experience in my words, and nothing else pretending to be that.

My Methodology

Before anything is listed here, it has to pass four questions:

• Would I buy it again? If the answer is no, it does not go on the site.
• Does it solve something real? Not clever, not novel — useful on an ordinary day.
• Is it worth what it costs? Cheap is not the goal. Fair is.
• Can I say it in my own words? If I cannot describe it from experience or careful research, I stay quiet.

What It Means to Be an Affiliate Site

AngiePicks is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program. This means that when you make a purchase through one of my links, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission is what keeps the site running and continue creating useful content.

I never recommend a product because of the commission. Plenty of high-paying products have been left off this site because they did not pass the four questions above.
